The beginning of the opening is a little boring, since it is just pictures of the main characters getting ready for their survival games and going about their day. Then the fighting starts and things start to get interesting. It is very similar to other animes that have fighting and action in it, but this one is different because it's mainly with guns. Also, the fighting is all just a game, that most take seriously but still a game. The song is a little subdued for the action of the opening but does work for the pictures at the beginning of the opening.
The ending is alright. Charaters running in place as the credits roll has been done over and over time and time again. The song fits with the show better then the opening. And it goes with the show.
