There's a live action too!? -Pokemon Live!

Pokemon Live! was an american stage show that ran from September 2000 to January 2001. It toured the United States with in that time. The show fallow Ash Ketchum, Misty and Brock in their adventures. They are currently in a contest to win the much sough after Diamond Badge. As the show goes on you find out that the Diamond Badge is only a ploy by Team Rocket's leader, Giovanni, to take over the World.

Before I start actually reviewing this musical, I want to make sure every one understands this. I watched this 90 minute show so none of you have to. It is an american made show and it's worse then you can imagine. Lets put it this way, I've seen high school plays with better acting then this. Well on to the review.

The acting, they were trying. That is the nicest thing I can say. It kind of feels like all the actors are from a first year drama class that is filled with students just trying to get their arts credit. The dancing from the main cast is cringe worthy at best. The chorus, actually does good choreographed dances but the moves them selves should have stayed in the 90's. Ash and Misty had decent singing voices, but I can't really say that for any one else. Every one else might have just been picked because no else was auditioning. The person in the Pikacu costume, looked like they were wondering around with out a clue. Actually, every one in a Pokemon costume looks like they have not been given any direction.

The scrip, I does remind me of a Disney on ice scrip. They are made to entertain children who  don't know better. The adults in the audience and the smarter children are just left bored and unentertained. Again the actors are trying, but there was only so much they can do with such a poor scrip. The songs aren't much better. With "classic" ones such as "My Best Friends" and "The Time has Come".

The costumes for the actors look like bad cosplays. Or a Halloween costume that was store bought at the last minute with out much thought. The pokemon them selves do look very nice. Well we now know were all the budget went. 

This show is just bad. I do not recommend it to any one. Any one. The only way I can see liking this show is if you are a pokemon super fan and have a free hour and a half.
